Holder Collission Avoidance | EDGECAM 2022.1 Info Icon
The majority of machining cycles and manufacturing environments benefit from new Dynamic Holder Collision Avoidance.

Dynamic Holder Collision Avoidance automatically collision checks the initial toolpath. Where collisions are found between the holder and the target solid model, stock and fixture - the toolpath is removed.

The cycle intelligently re-links the toolpath and continus to machine the component.

Advanced 5 Axis - Deburring cycle | EDGECAM 2022.1

Advanced 5 Axis - Deburring cycle | EDGECAM 2022.1

EDGECAM 2022.1 adds another machining strategy to the Advanced 5-Axis Cycle. The new ‘Deburring’ strategy will automatically detect sharp edges and creases on a solid model and create a dynamic toolpath removing all unwanted burrs.
As components parts are now “burr-free” customers can be assured that the quality of their products will increase for little or no extra time burden.

WAVEFORM milling enhancements | EDGECAM 2022.1

WAVEFORM milling enhancements | EDGECAM 2022.1

EDGECAM 2022.1 sees no fewer than three new performance boosting enhancements. "Chip Prevention” function has been enhanced to include its own specific Feedrate.A new “Chip Avoid Rollover” setting has been added, aimed at producing better toolpaths when machining thin wall sections and narrow channels. The introduction of “Automatic Start point” means that the cycle mow intelligently selects the best toolpath entry position.

WAVEFORM turning enhancements | EDGECAM 2022.1

WAVEFORM turning enhancements | EDGECAM 2022.1

Waveform Rough Turn cycle now offers “Swarf Clearance”. Using the same technoogy found in the Rough Turning Cycle, users can now automatically retire the tool to a safe position, in order for excess swarf to be cleared. This can be specified in either number of passes or time.
The "Corner Type" option has been added to the cycle, allowing users greater toolpath control.

Thread Milling cycle - Plunge Feed added | EDGECAM 2022.1

Thread Milling cycle - Plunge Feed added | EDGECAM 2022.1

As most components consist of either tapped or threaded holes, the ability to determine the Plunge Feed rate within the Thread milling cycle will create significant cycle time savings for all customers.
Formerly, the cycle used the main Feedrate which could result in a lower cycle time. Being able to use an appreciably faster Feedrate as the tool enters the hole can significantly increase production throughput.

Rough Grooving Detect Stock and Force a Cut | EDGECAM 2022.1

Rough Grooving Detect Stock and Force a Cut | EDGECAM 2022.1

The Rough Grooving cycle now offers the ability to force the groove tool to take an extra cut next to a steep or vertical walls. This means that the potential for uneven stock amounts is removed and thus guarantees safer machining conditions for Finishing toolpaths.

EDGECAM 2022.1 Machine Tool Configurations | EDGECAM 2022.1

EDGECAM 2022.1 Machine Tool Configurations | EDGECAM 2022.1

Rotary toolpath control has been added to Nutated Head machine tool configurations. A simple switch within Code Wizard allows users to use Rotary Mill mode and thus overcome potential Axis Limit issues.
EDGECAM 2022.1 has extended its support of Angled Head toolholders by now supporting users with an A axis and C axis machine tool configuration

Tombstone Manager | EDGECAM 2022.1

Tombstone Manager | EDGECAM 2022.1

EDGECAM’s best in class multipart machining module has been further improved to support component parts with Five-Axis simultaneous toolpaths. This is another example of responding to customer needs as the amount of Five-Axis style components steadily increases.
A further Tombstone enhancement will result in shorter cycles times as customer may now control the manner in which each and every movement is performed during tool changes.

Control over Component Model Tolerance | EDGECAM 2022.1

Control over Component Model Tolerance | EDGECAM 2022.1

“Component Model Tolerance” function can now be found inside the Machine Simulator. Every user would naturally use the Simulator when checking their toolpaths, thus, this enhancement has global appeal.
The enhancement reduces the time required to simulate a component part. Large and more complex geometry’s especially benefit from this functionality. One particular bench mark test performed on a customer’s component produced nearly 100% time saving.

Automatically set Stock and Fixture attributes from DESIGNER | EDGECAM 2022.1

Automatically set Stock and Fixture attributes from DESIGNER | EDGECAM 2022.1

Our CAD for CAM solution DESIGNER, is perfect for creating or modifying solid models, jig and fixture design or building up complex assemblies. True to its nature, users may now specify manufacturing attributes in an model assembly such as component, stock and fixtures.

EDGECAM 2022.1 will now automatically recognize these machining attributes thus removing the need to re-specify within the CAM environment.
